That includes the AI technologies now embedded in that work — what they do well, where they sit in the workflow, and how to use them without losing the fundamentals underneath.

Course outline
The course introduces the tools, AI-powered technologies and methodologies used in modern Security Operations Centers, blending traditional SOC practice with AI-driven platforms that improve detection, analysis and response.
Through extensive hands-on exercises and labs, you'll work through real SOC tasks using both industry-standard tools and emerging AI solutions.
Text and log handling
Working with the raw material of the job — the logs and text streams every investigation starts from.
Packet analysis
Packet dissection and analysis, down to the level where you can say what actually crossed the wire.
Adversarial simulation
Seeing the behavior you're meant to catch, generated deliberately, so detection work has something to aim at.
Detection engineering
Automated detection engineering: turning what you've learned about an adversary into something that fires reliably.
AI-assisted hunting
Threat hunting with AI support, plus the use of AI tools for automation, anomaly detection and alert triage.
The focus stays on practical, baseline skills augmented by AI rather than replaced by it — the combination that today's security environments actually ask for.
Before you
arrive
Prerequisites
An understanding of basic networking concepts, and basic Linux comprehension.
What to bring
A laptop with an up-to-date operating system and browser, and the ability to run virtual machines.
Apple M-chip laptops are not compatible with the material used in this course. If that's your only machine, arrange a different one before the session.
Certificate
Every student who completes the training receives a continuing education certificate in both forms — a printed copy and a digital version you can file for CPE records or add to your LinkedIn profile.

Rod specializes in AI and LLM threat detection, agentic system security, and SOC modernization. He brings over 15 years of hands-on experience bridging offensive security research and enterprise-scale defensive operations.
